Artfully Meandering: Giveaway - Fine Silver Charms

I thought I would celebrate my one-year anniversary in Hong Kong with a giveaway.

I finally overcame my fear of the silver clay. I figured out the fear came from not wanting to mess up the expensive clay. So, I practiced on some copper clay first and got some ideas about what I wanted to do. I need some additional materials for firing the copper and bronze clays, so further play will have to wait. My work is still a bit organic, but I was quite happy with the charm on the left...a stylized version of my four-petal simple florals. The right charm was meant to be much more organic. The winner can choose the charm and the remaining charm will be available for $10 in my Artfire shop after the giveaway.

The Simple Floral Charm/Pendant is 0.75 inch and the Organic Textured Heart is nearly 1 inch long.

Winner will be chosen on Monday, November 30. Just comment on this post for a chance to win.

  1. Happy blogaversary! Those are lovely, Jenn! I love them both. This is clearly something you can do with restricted space until you can find somewhere to make glass beads - you should definitely do more with silver clay.

  4. Congratulations on conquering your fear! These are wonderful. I took a class at Bead & Button this summer and we made a ring. I never finished the project in class, and I don't own a tumbler. Would love to finish it and to make more things. Very nice charms! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the day! Erin

  7. Jenn,

I dont know if you thought of this, but If you did, my apologies...but one of the ways I have had my PMC /artclay students get over the " gosh this is so expensive" fear is to practice their designs using sculpey or fimo polymer clay...that way you can practice, work out their ideas, and then do em in the clay.....and remember , if you dont like what you have made, you can always crunch it up and just reconstitute it......!

  8. Thanks so much, KerinRose! I forgot about the crunching and reconstituting...that makes it so much less stressful. And I have some polymer clay, too...I'll give that a whirl for practicing. All fab ideas...
